Class Descriptions
Our structured preschool program focuses on gross motor skill development in addition to gymnastic skills.
The class format uses obstacle courses to help develop reading-readiness skills through patterning and sequencing. Obstacle courses include gymnastic events: tumbling, balance beam, bars and vaulting. In addition, we include gross motor activities such as climbing, jumping, hopping, rolling, balance and more!
Because every child develops at their own rate, our class age levels overlap. Students are placed into classes not only by age, but also by skill level. We want your child to learn gymnastics in a fun, safe, energetic environment that enriches their self esteem.
Junior Jumpers: 16 months - 3 years
This is usually your child's first organized, structured class. Parent participation is required. Your child will learn to follow an obstacle course. We want your child to learn while having fun, so at times, this class may be child directed. In the beginning, your child will mostly interact with you - which makes this a great opportunity for quality time with your child. As your child progresses and develops, they will begin to interact more with their peers and their instructor. You'll be there first-hand to watch and help your child grow!
Little Jumpers: 2.5 - 3.5 years
This class moves! This is usually your child's first class without a parent, therefore, we keep the class size small-only 5 students per instructor. This class is for the independent child that wants to, "do it myself!" Your child will learn to stay in a group, follow verbal directions while developing their gross motor and gymnastic skills. Their patterning skills will really develop at this level.

Super Jumpers: 3.5 - 4.5 years
This class is more gymnastics skill oriented than the Little Jumpers. These gymnasts are ready to slow down and complete all of their skills in our obstacle courses. These gymnasts will learn to slow down and proudly show a start and finish position with their skills. They will learn a wider range of the basic gymnastic skills. For example, they'll learn not only forward rolls, but also straddle forward rolls and lunge forward rolls. They'll begin to lunge into their handstands and cartwheels.
Kinder Jumpers: 4.5 - 5.5 years
This is a pre-gymnastics class. Very few obstacles are used in this class, as a more traditional beginner gymnastics class is introduced. Bridges (backbends) are introduced at this level. Students will develop their skills as well as polish them in this class. Look for a lot of handstands and cartwheels in this class!
Recreational Gymnastics
Boys & Girls: 5 -18 years
Our program is progressive, each skill
leads to new skills. Teaching with
progressions ensures that a solid
foundation will be built for the more
advanced skills. We encourage every
child to learn through hard work and
discipline. As your child builds their strength, coordination, and skills, their self esteem will also build-giving them confidence that will last a lifetime!
Cartwheels Gymnastics exists to provide a safe, fun, motivating environment for your child to build self confidence through gymnastics and physical fitness
